Model group was first established in 1982 by Late Haji Mehboob Alam for production of vegetable tanned belt and sole leather. It was after the year 1986 that Model group started chrome tanning vital for the production of safety footwear. Chrome tanning aided the development of upholstery leather for furniture on buffalo hide.
